.) Ok first things first, get a guide like Zygor Guides or at least one that is similar. World of Warcraft is a huge game with massive content and you can quite easily become lost with respect to what you need to do. A guide will enable you to focus in on exactly what you need to tackle.

.) Get to know your character and its class, what its skills are and how best to use them. There are forums galore on the net take a little time out to read through these, you can learn things like setting up macro's which save you a lot of time casting spells.

.) If you decide to get a guide, make sure that it is 100% in-game like Zygor Guides. One of the biggest time wasters in Wow and obstacles to fast levelling is the need to alt-tab out of the game and find your next required steps / quests. By having a guide that is in-game you are able to use as you play.

.) If the guide you acquire is in-game then you will need to install it. This is normally a simple process, but make sure you follow the instructions closely. Installing in the wrong directory means it won't work. Most in game guides like Zygor Guides are installed in the addons folder.

.) Talents and the understanding of them should be at the top of your list. Understanding which ones to apply and when best to take them can make the difference between mediocre levelling speeds and phenomenal speeds.

.) May sound a bit obvious but try every thing you can to stay alive. Having to run back to your corpse from a grave yard takes up precious time. If things are not going your way make a timely exit and then regroup yourself and retry.

.) If your not going to use a guide like Zygor Guides then there's nothing wrong with asking for help. Just make sure that you don't spam people constantly. Guide's like Zygor very much concentrate on solo levelling, so it's beneficial in the sense that to complete you don't have to group up with others and all the XP and loot you keep for yourself.

.) When on a chain of quests or any quest for that matter don't just resign yourself to them. Kill everything on your travels between the quests. You will be amazed at the amount of XP and loot you will gain just by tackling the mobs spread out over an area as well as your quests.

.) Without a guide such as Zygor Guides this one is a little hard to do. But you really don't want to simply collect every quest in an area. Without a guide I guess you will have to, but the trouble with this is some quests are just not worth doing because the time involved to complete is just not worth the amount of XP you gain. If your looking to power level a character to 80 knowing which quests to take and which to drop is a must.

.) Enjoy the game. To many people get highly stressed playing Wow and take it far to seriously. Wow is supposed to be a release from real world stresses, it's an adventure, so treat it as such. Not everything will go your way, you will come up against obstacles. Relish the challenge and you will be rewarded J.
